To keep up with the modern era, where ideas move at the speed of business and real-time problems call for turn-key solutions, I’m making a few changes to how PRIMARY SOURCES proceeds from here on out.  First off, I’m moving off a three-times-a-week posting schedule to once a week, on Wednesdays.  But don’t worry!  I’ll also be increasing the per-post wordcount from ~600 to ~3000, which works out to a substantial increase in the total number of words of Primary Sources delivered to you on a per-week basis.  I’m led to believe this may be a little bit more digestible.  In the past I’ve sometimes had to bend and scrape to keep within the low word-count I’ve allowed myself; it’s resulted in the occasional 375-word post bracketed by two 1050-word posts, due to the structure of whatever I was describing at the time.

Secondly, I’ve already adjusted the site to make it more mobile-friendly, which should have been a largely transparent change if you haven’t been reading it on your phone, and a welcome change if you have.  The index pages have been slightly altered and improved.

Thirdly, whenever a Primary Sources post goes live, a link to it will appear in the Primary Sources Twitter feed (@arthurdies), on the Primary Sources Tumblr page (arthurdies.tumblr.com) and on the Primary Sources Facebook page (facebook.com/primarysources).  These new social media links, artisanal and hand-crafted, are provided specifically for your comfort and convenience!  Like them, follow them: it doesn’t cost you a dime.

Finally, and this is the most significant alteration, I’ve decided to revisit both CLIO and EUTERPE, the first two volumes of Herodotus’s Histories.  I’ll be posting revised versions of both, under the new schema, beginning on Wednesday.  Once we’ve reached the end of these updates, we’ll move on to THALIA, and the rest of the Persian Wars.
